Art, particularly painting has been a passion for as long as I can remember. It's a drive that led me to rent studio space in a former factory building to create my paintings when I am not painting "en plein air." I paint the world as I see it whether it is the corner of the same building I see at a particular stop light each day, a Boston 3-Decker house, a still life, or the human figure. I usually paint from a vantage point that suggests that I am "just passing through."

I love using acrylic paints; the quick drying nature allows me to go almost anywhere to set up my easel. I have taken my paints along with me to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Holland, Cape Cod, even a local construction site to paint the earth moving equipment.

I am grateful to have this creative drive to paint since visual art is one of the best ways to reveal our culture. It is certainly the oldest form of art that has recorded our history; just check the cave paintings in Lascaux, France or the pottery and sculpture of other early civilizations. I wonder how many future civilizations will get a glimpse of our current culture through my art?
