Josie
Lawrence is an artist named in "Who's Who in America"
and "Who's Who of American Women" and "Who's
Who in the World."
She received
a B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art with a major in
painting and has taken graduate studies at various institutions
throughout the world working toward her Masters of Fine Art
degree. She works mainly in oil on linen with a palette knife
in plein air but also enjoys working in her studio. Her works
include still life, landscapes and portraits.
She is
a representational painter and her work includes series of
oils from her travels to locations such as China, where she
studied at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, England, Italy,
France, Greece and Spain and has been exhibited by the De
Havilland Fine Art Gallery, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine
Arts, the John F. Kennedy Library and the Massachusetts College
of Art. Her artwork is in collections worldwide.
Recent
acclaimed reviews of her work were featured in American Artist;
Harbus, "Best of Boston Art"; The Boston Globe,
"Three Art Associations Highlight Members' Works",
The Boston Herald, "The Collector Within"; and The
Patriot Ledger, "Her Paintings Bring To Mind Another
Time".
Ms. Lawrence
has been profiled on Wrentham and Walpole Cable TV and on
WEZE Radio Family Talk Show.
She has
received numerous awards including juried Best of Show awards
and the "Honorarium Award" by the Weymouth Art Association.
