"I am an artist who finally realized a life-long desire to paint. Upon moving to this area from New Jersey in 1996, I found a rich art community on the South Shore with many local opportunities for artistic learning and growth. My children were in school at this point, and I realized that the time was right to follow my dream.

I am a member of the Duxbury Art Association, the North River Art Association, the South Shore Art Center and have studied and exhibited through each. Mary Good was my exceptional first teacher who laid a wonderful ground work in charcoal and fueled my desire to learn more. I studied watercolor under the gifted Katherine Smit, and about 8 years ago found my true love of pastel through the mentorship of Donna Rossetti-Bailey. I have taken week-long workshops with master painters Albert Handel and Doug Dawson (twice).

I cannot express how much these opportunities have meant to me. The comradeship of fellow artists has become an important part of my life, and the joy that I derive from the process of painting has become almost therapeutic for me. It is no longer a hobby of mine, but part of who I am! Although I strive to keep learning and improving, awards are not what matter most to me. It is the love of painting, inspiration, encouragement, friendship and sharing that I thrive on most."
