Patricia M. Gray has worked in
oils and pastels for over 30 years. The surroundng landscape
has been her inspitation for masterful composition and sensitive
use of color. Bringing more than just the visual impact of
the scene, Gray tries to engage the viewer's senses; to feel
the wind, textures and smells of nature. Gray invokes the
technique of "en plein air", a practice introduced by the
French in the early Impressionistic era by painting on site,
immersing herself in the landscape.
She holds the
prestigious honor of being a Signature Member of the Pastel
Society of America. Her work can be found in numerous private
and corporate collections both in the United States and abroad.
Patricia currently
teaches painting and drawing at the South Shore Art Center
in Cohasset, MA. |
