Shannon McDonald graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth where she earned her BFA in Photography/ Electronic Imaging with a focus in Women’s Studies.

She has participated in workshops at the Aperture Foundation, Photographic Resource Center while also facilitating workshops/ talks at the Art Institute of Boston, New England School of Photography and the Photographic Resource Center. She has served as guest juror at the Griffin Museum, New England School of Photography and the South Shore Arts Center. Currently, she is the Gallery Director at Panopticon Gallery of Photography, Boston, MA.

Her photographic portfolio shows a diverse range of color photography featuring intimate portraits. Jewelry making, pen & ink, collage and embroidered scarves also consume her time.
